Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community

Student Life

Sixth form students play a vital role in Academy Life. Our team of Ambassadors coordinate sixth form literacy, numeracy and behaviour mentoring programmes with the rest of the school. Our sixth form students take a lead role in charity fundraising within their communities. Every year two students are given the opportunity to visit Auschwitz concentration camp with the Holocaust Education Trust and take a lead role it Holocaust awareness education within the school.

We provide a strong programme of pastoral support to ensure student are well supported throughout their time at Oasis and beyond. Students have the opportunity to take part in extracurricular activities such as debating, the EPQ, volunteering and social action projects.

Oasis has prepared me for university. I spent one week studying politics as part of the Sutton Trust University of Nottingham summer school and have recently completed work experience at top city law firm K & L Gates. I was part of the debating team that won the Sheriff’s Challenge public speaking competition at the Old Bailey.

The teachers push us to achieve. I am part of the Teach First Futures Programme and spent my Easter holidays studying Maths at the University of Cambridge. I receive one to one tuition as part of the Access Project at investment fund Quadrature Capital.

Oasis supports me. I am part of the Futures Frontiers Programme at Ashurst law firm and have received personalised support to plan my future and network with professionals. I have taken part in an Easter residential at Oxford University.

Oasis gives us opportunities. I have had the chance to represent the Academy visiting Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland and leading Holocaust awareness in the Academy. I have studied languages and law at SOAS as part of their summer school.
