Years 8 and 9

Today, we received the news of a positive Covid-19 test for a member of the academy community. We have informed the parents of a group of students and a number of staff that they will have to self-isolate for 14 days.

As a consequence we have a significantly reduced number of teachers now available to work onsite. We have had to take the very difficult decision to ask students in Years 8 and 9 to remain at home for the rest of this week. We want to make clear that these year groups are being sent home due to staff/ student ratios not due to a suspected Covid 19 outbreak.
