EU Settlement Scheme

EU Settlement Scheme

Important information regarding the EU Settlement Scheme

As the UK prepares to leave the EU, many people in the community will have questions about how they could be affected. CAE hopes to offer reassurance and clarity about what needs to be done in order to secure the rights of individuals via the government’s EU Settlement Scheme.

This scheme applies to EU, EEA and Swiss citizens currently living in the UK. Completing the application is crucial for those affected and their family to continue to live, work and study in the UK following the 31st December 2020. This will also include entitlement to:

  • Public services, such as healthcare and schools.
  • Public funds and pensions.
  • British citizenship if you meet the requirements.

The Settlement Scheme application is completed via the GOV.UK website. This involves a short and simple online application form to prove your identity, show that you live in the UK, and declare any criminal convictions. You will need a valid passport or national identity card.
