About Us

Enfield was the very first academy opened by Oasis in September 2007. Since then we have grown from a collection of Portakabins on our car park to a thriving learning community in a £30M building. In September 2012 we opened our Sixth Form in £1.2M facilities on Innova Park. 200 students now continue their education in a wide range of post-16 A-levels and BTEC qualifications. With 95% attendance and a growing academic reputation, Oasis Academy Enfield is popular with local parents who value a winning combination of high standards and outstanding care, guidance and support. Our last OfSTED in 2010 pronounced the school to be "good" with eight outstanding features.

Our success and reputation with parents has led us to be over-subscribed in all year groups with over 1100 students now enjoying the benefits of belonging to a learning family that inspires hope, celebrates achievement and educates for life. There are many reasons that make our Academy worthy of your consideration, but I have chosen five particularly worth mentioning:

Our Academic Curriculum. In the summer of 2012 we received our first-ever exam results and were delighted that over 90% of our students achieved five or more A*-C GCSEs or equivalent - the best out of Enfield's seventeen comprehensive schools. Progress of our students in GCSE Mathematics and Languages results showed us to be in the top 10% of schools in the country. We put a strong emphasis on "the basics" with a Year Seven programme In English and Maths that prepares students for progress in all national curriculum subjects.

Our Outstanding Facilities. Our £30M inspirational building has state-of-the-art classroom facilities as well as specialist areas for sport and performing arts. The central atrium provides a focal point to the building and is used as a meeting point, lunchtime cafe and learning space. The corridors and classrooms are serviced by a display technician who works with the staff to provide a stimulating learning environment for learning. In September 2012 we received £1.2M to convert an office building on Innova Park into our new Sixth Form Centre, which combines study, teaching and social facilities.

Our Roots in the Community. Our Primary Partnership Manger works one morning a week with all students in Keys Meadow, Prince of Wales, Eastfield and Chesterfield Schools. This enables her to get to know all Year 6 students who come to the Academy - a friendly, familiar face to new arrivals who is familiar with what each child needs to do to improve. Our long-established 3 youth centres in the area have hundreds of young people come through their doors each week, with Oasis youth leaders carrying on the good work of Oasis teachers by day.

Our Caring Reputation. Our tutor groups - or "learning families" as we prefer to call them - are no more than 15 in size, which means that all of our students are known really well by their learning guides. Parents get detailed reports five times a year and get to meet learning guides for 30 minutes on four occasions for a really detailed breakdown on progress, attendance, behaviour and their general well-being. Students response to this care by developing trusting relationships with both adults and other students in the Academy.

Our Programme for Getting Students into Work . Getting great exam results is very important but it's not the only important factor in getting on in the world. Business leaders on Innova Park tell us that it is important for good employees to turn up on time, dress appropriately, show good attitudes and work hard.  We work closely with businesses on the estate such as Sony to give 30 students a long-term work experience placement and our partnership with Barnet and Southgate College gives opportunities to access the finest in vocational facilities and teaching expertise.  We are one of only eight schools in the country to belong to The Access Project, which finds 100 of our 15-18 year old students a weekly mentoring appointment with graduates in some of London's top legal, finance and publishing companies.

To sum up, the young people who join the Academy have access to excellent facilities, exciting opportunities and first-class support. They are subject to high expectations and are stretched and challenged in their learning and personal development.

All students are treated as individuals; there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach. Personalising learning is our aim, giving students the education they need and want. Learning is active, hands on, engaging and fun.

Oasis Academy Enfield is a school for the community and a school for the 21st Century, preparing our young people for their future. As we grow we are guided by our mission statement, which commits us to building trust with parents by being credible, acting reliably, building relationships and going the extra mile to meet the needs of each child.
