Oasis Community Learning is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Hammond as Principal of Oasis Academy Enfield, following a rigorous and lengthy interview process.
The appointment of Mr Hammond, who is one of the current Deputy Principals at the Academy, comes on the back of John Walton’s announcement of his retirement which is due to commence at the end of the summer.
Steve Chalke, Founder and CEO of Oasis Community Learning is confident Mr Hammond is the right person to lead the Academy, “Paul has been an exceptional Deputy Principal at the Academy and has a proven track record and an outstanding reputation in team building, raising attainment and achievement, not only at Oasis Academy Enfield, but also in a variety of schools. Having been in education for 25 years, Paul brought this huge experience to Oasis Academy Enfield and has helped it to become an inspiration to other Academies and schools across the area. Most recently, Paul played a key role in securing a fantastic Ofsted report, in which the Academy was classified as good, with some outstanding features.
“Paul has the leadership skills, clarity of vision, educational strength and commitment to Oasis’ ethos that will enable him to continue shaping the growth and success of Oasis Academy Enfield and the students in our care.”
Mr Hammond entered the teaching profession as a science teacher and rapidly rose through the ranks to eventually take on the post of Associate Headteacher at Denbigh High School in Luton. He worked at Denbigh for three years before leaving to be one of the founding members of Oasis Academy Enfield’s Leadership Team.
Prior to taking up his post at Denbigh, Paul was also a senior programme manager at the National College for School Leadership, where he was instrumental in the design and development of Leading from the Middle – the national CPD programme for middle leaders.
During his time at Oasis Academy Enfield, Mr Hammond has taken a central role, helping to put in place core features of the Academy’s success. As such, he is excited at being given the opportunity to build on the Academy’s current strong position, and to take it forward to even greater things; Paul said, “I am thrilled at being in this position, and feel privileged to be asked to build on the fantastic foundations that John Walton has laid at this Academy. Oasis Academy Enfield is an extraordinary place to work, and is made so by our enthusiastic and dedicated students, staff and parents/carers. In taking on the position of Principal I will work tirelessly to help the Academy push achievement, pursue excellence, and to embrace and include everyone from the community, providing a 21st century hub where all are welcome.”
Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
